When it comes to dressing up to go out and meet women, the term “Peacocking” tends to come up for a lot of guys in the community. It’s become a very loosely used term. For those unfamiliar, here’s some quick background.

VH1 The Pick Up Artist & The Game’s Mystery, is credited as the innovator who coined the term. It comes from the idea of showcasing yourself like a male peacock that spreads its giant feathers to attract the females.

Peacocking CORRECTLY instantly makes you stand out in an ATTRACTIVE way amongst all the other guys around you who just try to “fit in”. When you look like all the other losers that approached the hot chick and failed, she’s probably already categorized and disqualified you with the rest of them.

Women “Peacock” all the time.

Just look at the way they dress when they are out at the bars or clubs. They wear things that show off their cleavage, super short miniskirts with high heels, and vibrant clothing. The key concept here is that they dress to stand out. What most guys don’t realize is that they can get noticed in this manner as well.

As an instructor I see a lot of students who have taken “Peacocking” the wrong way. Most guys totally misunderstand the concept of it – giant hats and shirts that light up often just look ridiculous. This may get you noticed, but what it usually conveys is how much of a clown for attention you are.

Your “fun” impression is short-lived, and ultimately this isn’t attractive to women. People will get a kick out of it when there isn’t much else going on, but eventually they will check you off as some random weirdo.

“But Mystery wears this kind of stuff and he gets girls!” Yes. But Mystery is an illusionist/magician, conveying this through his clothing. This “stage wear” is congruent to who he is. He even has the magic skills to back it up. So if you’re not a magician, it’s not a good idea to randomly wear furry hats and goggles.

The “bigger picture” is for how you DRESS to fuel you into becoming the man you want to be.

Theory and I have teamed up to create this informational site to help guys get the fashion edge that their female counterparts have squandered their lives to gain. Not only will you find yourself enlightened about blazers, club wear, designer jeans, and where to shop for cheap, but hopefully, you will come to a better understanding of how to CONVEY YOUR PERSONALITY through your image in a bold, yet stylish way.

According to the old axiom “dress for success,” if you want to become a rock star, you should start dressing like one. This helps instill a mindset that not only gets you acting like one, but building congruency over time.

The most important step to building a BOLD, yet congruent image is deciding on the persona you want to convey to others. Are you the millionaire media mogul? The mysterious illusionist? Or the loud rock star? Whoever it may be, every piece of dress will confirm or negate that character.

Just look at Mystery’s unique style and then the guys in the first picture above. It’s the attack of the clones.

Peacocking correctly with style gives people a reason to open YOU. Trust me this WILL happen.

Example: Earlier today, I saw this girl with gauge earrings, and this mere detail sparked a curiosity that had me asking “hey did those hurt?” It was automatic - her earrings had opened me.

Most guys try not to get NOTICED, but become the invisible man.

The biggest reason why people wear ‘safe” and accepted attire is because they can’t handle the social pressures of being the center of attention. Wearing ridiculous items is a great way to start out if you are beginner (it will help you get comfortable with being the center of attention). You can experiment with this, but it’s not necessary. This is not what peacocking is really about.

You will feel more confident knowing that you actually look good and stand out as a stylish guy. Women will be a lot more attracted to you this way as well.

Work on your new look starting TODAY

First, figure out how you regularly choose to present yourself to the world. What kind of look do you see yourself in? What roles do you play daily that impact your style? If you are having a hard time, search the internet for styles that celebrities have and try imitating those that catch your eye. Then go out and see how it works for you.
